About the Department

The Department of Mathematical Sciences was established at the Faculty of science at the University of Tikrit in 2002, to be one of the main scientific departments that contributed to supporting the academic and scientific career at the University. With the establishment of the Faculty of Computer Science and mathematics in the academic year 2007-2008, the department was transferred to it in order to develop the specialty of mathematics and strengthen its link with modern applications, especially those related to computer science and contemporary technologies. The department oversees the Bachelor's program in Mathematical Sciences, where it offers an academic program focused on building a solid scientific foundation in theoretical and Applied Mathematics, with attention to developing students ' skills in scientific thinking, logical analysis and mathematical reasoning, to qualify them to understand scientific problems and analyze them according to an accurate mathematical methodology. As part of the Department's efforts to promote scientific research and the development of graduate studies, the master's program in Mathematical Sciences was opened in the academic year 2015-2016, which constituted an important step in preparing specialized scientific and research cadres capable of contributing to the development of mathematical knowledge and scientific research inside and outside the University. With the continued academic and research development, the department opened the doctoral program in Mathematical Sciences in the academic year 2019-2020, thus becoming one of the distinguished scientific departments in Iraq that grants master's and doctoral degrees in mathematics. The faculty members of the Department contribute to teaching many basic and advanced courses in mathematics, in addition to their active role in teaching mathematical subjects to various academic departments at the College, which reflects the scientific importance of the department and its pivotal role in supporting the knowledge structure of other academic programs. The department includes a group of teaching specialists in various scientific fields, including mathematical statistics, probability, mathematical analysis, semantic analysis, numerical analysis, algebra, measurement theory, optimization, statement theory and its applications, nodal analysis, topology, time series, Scientific Research, number theory, information theory, as well as their diverse research activities and scientific contributions published in journals and scientific conferences sober. The department continues its efforts in developing its academic and research programs in a way that contributes to serving the community and enhancing the University's scientific status.

Message from the Head of the Department I am pleased to welcome you to the academic website of the Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics / University of Tikrit, this department represents one of the main scientific pillars in the college, and plays a pivotal role in building mathematical knowledge and promoting sober scientific thinking. The Department of mathematics was established to be an academic incubator specializing in the preparation of scientific competencies in the fields of theoretical and Applied Mathematics, and then continued his scientific career with advanced and growing steps, witnessing a remarkable development at the level of academic programs, scientific structure, and research activity, until it became one of the distinguished departments that keep pace with the requirements of higher education and in line with the needs of society and its institutions. This development was reflected in the breadth of the Department's programs, the diversity of its specialties, and the strengthening of its presence in graduate studies, scientific research, and community service. The Department of mathematics is not limited to providing students with academic knowledge, but goes beyond that to establishing a culture of logical analysis, developing proof and deduction skills, and preparing graduates capable of making an effective contribution in the fields of Education, Research, Statistics, analysis, and various service sectors. The department is also keen to provide a stimulating scientific environment that supports excellence, encourages initiative, and establishes the values of seriousness, belonging, and academic responsibility.based on the Department's vision, we seek to achieve solid and distinguished scientific outputs in Applied and theoretical mathematics, which contributes to providing the knowledge community with competencies capable of creativity and giving. The mission of the department is to provide specialized scientific preparation, enhance scientific research, and contribute to community service by qualifying scientific staff and providing expertise and scientific advice in the mathematical and statistical fields.in this context, we confirm our continued work on developing curricula, supporting scientific research, expanding the horizons of graduate studies, and enhancing the quality of academic performance, in line with the standards of scientific sobriety and the requirements of academic accreditation, in order to preserve the Department of mathematics scientific status and its influential role inside and outside the University. We ask God to help us all to continue the March of scientific construction, and that the mathematics department remains an academic Beacon that contributes to the service of our students, our university and our society.
