About the College

The College of Computer Science and Mathematics at Tikrit University was established in 2007 and welcomed its first cohort of students in the 2007-2008 academic year. The college began with the Departments of Computer Science and Mathematics, which were separated from the College of Science. Thus, the college offered four academic levels for the 2007-2008 academic year. The faculty consists of 90 professors across various specializations, including professors, assistant professors, lecturers, and teaching assistants. The administrative staff comprises approximately 100 technical and administrative employees.

The college actively strives to support all departments within the governorate that suffer from a shortage of computer science and mathematics specialists, and to provide training and development activities for the community and various industrial, service, and manufacturing establishments in the governorate. The college plays a significant, distinguished, and important role in enhancing the scientific and cultural aspects of the university through the scientific seminars it holds extensively. It aims to open new scientific departments and branches in the future to keep pace with the rapid scientific advancements in its field of specialization. It also seeks to establish a consulting office to provide the governorate and the university with scientific consultations and proposals for developing the work of government institutions according to modern scientific methods in the field of information technology and e-governance.

Preparing and developing highly competent graduates in their field of specialization. Establishing the college as the primary source for all matters related to the field of specialization. Providing consultations to all government departments and the private sector within the geographical area of ​​Salah al-Din Governorate. Conducting and implementing applied research for the university's colleges and departments, and collaborating with government departments and the private sector on projects within the field of specialization.

Ensuring the actual need for teaching staff is met through appointments and transfers in computer science and some mathematics disciplines. Encouraging faculty members to conduct scientific research in their field of specialization. Raising the academic level of college students and involving faculty members in professional development courses inside and outside the country. Involving technical and administrative staff in professional development courses, with one course per academic year.
